Rocky Road

"And here's our room!" Lizzie smiled, opening the door to a spacious room.

It had three rooms, one with one bed, and one with two beds.

"I CALL THE TWO BED ROOM!" Felicity beamed.

Gee, I wonder who she wants to share it with.

"I'll share it with Lizzie!" Felicity's green eyes sparkled.
"Okay! Prudence, you don't mind being alone, right?" Lizzie asked.
"No, it's fine!" I lied through my teeth.

I then walked to my room, then threw my bags down.
"Happy new year." I groaned.

I walked over to the window and pulled back the curtains.

I stood in amazement, the Rocky Mountains looked so pure and untouched.

"Abbey would love it here," I sighed, then immediately shook my head.

Forget her my mind advised.

Then I remembered my dilemma now.

Felicity is taking Lizzie away from me.
But, didn't I originally take her away from Felicity?

DANG! This is too confusing!

"Prudence! Mrs. Hodge just called, it's time to get ready for rehearsal!" Lizzie poked her head in the doorway.

"Okay." I sighed, then pulled the curtains back into their original position.

If I don't get in another post before midnight, Happy New Year Everyone!

"RUN!" Marisol yelled.

Callie, Cindie, my new sister Felicity, and Jess all bolted to stop a taxi man.

While Marisol, Julia, and Sonali all waddled out of the train station with all of our bags.

"Thank-you!" I smiled to the taxi driver, then walked back to the trunk to put in all of our stuff.

We flew into Colorado and were headed to The Rockies Resort.
That's where the Chorus got booked to sing at a New Years Eve Party for one of Mrs. Hodge's friends.

"When are Lizzie, Rebecca, and Julie flying in?" Julia asked, pushing in one of Becca's MASSIVE sparkly pink suitcases.

"Later today." Felicity explained, helping Julia.

[Yesterday all of this happened.]

"No," Marisol started, pointing to three girls running out of the train station.

"BECCA BUG!" Rebecca screamed
"BECKSTER!" Becca yelled, crashing into Rebecca and hugging her tight.

Rebecca and Becca are twin sisters, they look almost EXACTLY alike.
The only way you can tell them apart, is by how they dress.

EVERYTHING Becca owns is covered in rhinestones.
While Rebecca has a bit of an obsession with designer clothes.

I turned my head to see Julie and Julia running towards each other as if they haven't seen each other in 23 years.

"JULES!" Julia cried, hugging Julie.
"J-BUG!" Julie yelled, returning the hug.

Now with Julia and Julie, you can tell which one is which because of the fact that Julie now has braces, and Julia doesn't.

I turned to a certain blond-haired, blue-eyed girl running towards me and attacking me with a bear hug.
"LIZ!" I beamed.
"PRU!" Elizabeth yelled.

Now Elizabeth and I aren't twins, but she's my best friend. No doubt about tha-

"LIZZIE!" Felicity screamed, running towards Elizabeth.

"LISSIE!" Liz beamed, then caught Felicity in a hug.

"Come on, Prudence" Charity's soft voice called out.
I smiled, but Charity's odd resemblance to Abbey kind of stood in the way of our friendship blossoming.

New Year, New Friends, Prudence.
My mind seemed to whisper.

"LET'S GET TO THE RESORT!" Marisol called out then we all raced into the huge limo-sized taxi.

Tonight is the night we perform, I'll tell you all how it goes tomorrow!

"PRUDENCE, YOU HAVE A PHONE CALL!" Chrissa called up to me.

I was in my room, reading a magazine. I picked up my phone.

"Hello?" I asked.
"Hey Prudence!" A familiar voice sang.
"ABBEY!" I beamed! I hadn't heard from Abbey for a whole week.
"What's up?" I asked.
"Nothing much." She said.

I had to tell her something.
I mean, it might have sounded mean, but it's what I was feeling.

"Abbey.." I sighed.
"What?" She asked.
"I think..." I trailed off, I couldn't find it in my heart to tell her what needed to be said.
"What?" She repeated.
"I think, since we probably won't ever see each other again, that we should find new best friends." I felt like crying.
"What? Why?" She asked.
"Because, I think that I'm the only thing pulling you back from becoming the best Abbey Holland you can be. Even though you're pretty awesome." I breathed.
She had a pause.
"That's not what I meant!" I exclaimed, I didn't want to stop being her friend, I just wanted her to find a better one.
There was no use stopping her. Once Abbey starts a rant, it's nearly impossible to stop her.
"AND ANOTHER THING! YOU ARE SUCH A WITCH AND YOU HAVE SOME MAJOR PROBLEMS WITH YOUR LIFE! I HOPE YOU DIE ALONE." She yelled and hung up. Oh, and instead of 'witch' she said a word that rhymes with that, but starts with a 'B.'

I felt like crying, then I realized something.

If she was worth crying for, she wouldn't have said that.

I put the phone back, slid down my wall, and much to my dismay....

Cried my heart out.

"Change better be a good thing" I muttered walking home from Rebecca, Julie, & Elizabeth's house.

Today, Rebecca unveiled that she is twins with one of my newest sisters, Becca.

My mind is like swimming right now.

Too much change for Pru to handle.

1) Abbey moving away.
2) Molly having a crush on Keith after hating him for so long.
3) Julie changing her name to Julia.
4) Charity moving back.
5) Nathan telling me he loved me.
6) Melanie getting another doll for Christmas.
7) Julia and Julie being twins.

Of course, and now..

8) Becca and Rebecca being twins.

[a REAL post will come soon]

Disco Bell Rock

"Come on Pru!" Elizabeth called as she pulled me into the auditorium.

Today was the day of AGPPA's 1st Annual Winter Dance, which the Chorus was supposed to perform at.

"I can't do this." I groaned. The butterflies in my stomach were going crazy.
"Come on, Prudence! Yes you can! You sing in front of the Chorus EVERY week." Elizabeth smiled.
"But this is different. The Chorus is like my second family, the whole school..... Not so much." I shuddered.
"Come on, Prudence. We're going to be late." Elizabeth rolled her eyes and walked with me to the dressing room.

"PRU!" Molly and Callie chorused. They were in our costumes which were either red dresses (Molly, Elizabeth, & Chrissa) or white dresses. (Casey, Jessica, & Callie)

"Where's my dress?" I asked Mrs. Hodge as she came in to check on us.
"Oh Prudence. You're going to be singing the solo. The crowd needs to distinguish you from the rest of the Chorus." Mrs. Hodge smiled.
"So, I'll be like the center of everything?" I asked.
"Yeah! Come on, I'll show you your dress." She smiled, then walked with me to the clothes rack.
"There." She pointed to a black bag over a hanger.
"Oh my gosh." I gushed. It was perfect! It was a knee-length, sleeveless gold dress.
"Where did you get this?" I asked.
"Oh, I have my sources." She smiled.
"Mrs. Hudson and Sonali?" I asked.
"Yeah!" She laughed and I joined in.
She checked her watch. "Okay! Girls, I will go call in the boys to come in here so we can warm up." Mrs. Hodge clapped her hands together and walked to the boy's dressing room.
"Wow Prudence! That dress is GORGEOUS!" Elizabeth gushed.
"It looks amazing with your black hair." Molly complimented.
Jessica walked by, took a look at me, and smiled
"Cute." Then walked over to the make-up mirror.
"Thanks." I responded.
"You all look really cute too." I smiled.
"Prudence, I need to tell you something." Chrissa sighed, pulling me to a side of the room.
"What?" I asked.
"Abbey....." She started. The look on her face said she didn't know how to say it.
"What?" I repeated.
"Abbey......... Went......... Home." She whispered.

My heart shattered.
"WHAT?! HOW?! WHEN?!" I yelled.
"She went back to Massachusetts on a plane at three o'clock in the morning on Tuesday." Chrissa sighed.
"Oh my God." I just whispered. My best friend was gone?

Without a second thought?
Or even a goodbye?

"The boys are here!" Keith announced.
Molly rolled her eyes "We're not blind, Hudson."
Keith looked at Molly and immediately was at a loss for words.
"What?" Molly asked. "Do I have something in my teeth?"
"No, Keith here's just enjoying the vie-" Ryan came up behind Keith and patted his back, but couldn't finish the sentence because Keith elbowed him in the ribs.
"Sorry, just calling it like I see it." Ryan put both of his hands up, then walked to Casey.

"Where's Nathan? Or did he leave too?" I asked nastily.
"Prudence, I'm really sorry." Chrissa sighed.
"Well you knew, but you didn't tell me." I fired.
"I'm so sorry." Chrissa whispered then walked over to Matt.

I heard footsteps coming up behind me, but I didn't care enough to look.

My best friend was....... Gone.
What was I going to do?

"PEACH!" An all-too-familiar voice called out.
I spun around "Hey." I glum ed at Nathan.
"What's wrong, Pru?" He asked, holding my cheek.
"Abbey's gone." I whispered on the verge of tears.
"What?" He asked.
I explained it to him, everything.
"Oh my goodness, Prudence! I am so very sorry." He apologized.
"Sorry's not going to bring her back." I sighed.
"Well, on the bright side. You look beautiful." He smiled.
I blushed, but not as intensely as I would have without knowing about Abbey's departure.
"Thanks, Nathan. You look amazing as well." I complimented, he did. The black suit he was wearing looked awesome on him.

"OKAY EVERYONE, GATHER AROUND!" Mrs. Hodge called out as soon as we all got back stage.
"We have 3 songs to perform. 'Jingle Bell Rock,' 'Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree' and 'Merry Christmas Darling.'" She instructed.
We all nodded.
"Okay, I'll go introduce you all." She smiled, then turned to walk on stage.
"Mrs. Hodge! Wait!" I stopped her.
"Yes, Prudence?" She questioned.
"Can I sing something else instead of 'Merry Christmas Darling?'" I asked.
She thought about it for a second.
"Sure." She smiled.
"Thank-you!" I thanked then walked back to where the Chorus was sitting.

"Okay, now we have a very special treat for all of you!" Mrs. Migliori, the School's principal, announced.
A low mutter scattered across the crowd. I looked out and saw all of my sisters and Julie and Rebecca.
"Mrs. Hodge will tell you all more about it." Mrs. Migliori smiled then motioned for Mrs. Hodge to come on the stage.

When Mrs. Hodge walked on stage, there was an abundant amount of applause.
"WOOOOOO!" I heard Marisol scream.
"Merry Christmas, my little Retro Kiddies." Mrs. Hodge joked. The crowd laughed.
"We, as in the Chorus and I, have some Christmas cheer to spread." Mrs. Hodge smiled. The mention of the Chorus caused all of my sisters & friends to scream " GO PRUDENCE, MOLLY, CALLIE, CHRISSA AND LIZZIE!"
"I bet you're all wondering what it is. Well why don't we just show you?" She smiled, then walked off stage and pulled the curtains to that they were spread on the stage.
"GO GO GO!" She whispered.

We all got in position.
Callie and Tyler were back to back. Same with Casey and Ryan. Molly and Keith. Peter & Jessica. Elizabeth and Jake. I was standing alone in the middle with my arms in a 'V' shape and Nathan behind me.
"Prudence and Nathan! Get back to back with her!" Mrs. Hodge pointed to a new girl in the exact same gold dress as me. I motioned for her to come back-to-back with me, which she did.

We all were wearing Santa hats that matched our outfits, so Red hats for Molly, Elizabeth, and Chrissa. Or white hats for Callie, Casey, and Jessica. All the boys were SUPPOSED to be wearing black Santa hats, but they decided that wearing Reindeer ears were better. The new girl and I were both wearing metallic gold hats.

"Hi, I'm Charity." She whispered.
"CHARITY?!" I yelled.

Abbey had a cousin who looked EXACTLY like her named Charity. Charity and I were really good friends.
"PRUDENCE?!" She yell-whispered.
We hugged.
"It's been so long!" I whispered.
"I know!" She laughed.
"What are you doing here?" I asked.
"Abbey sent me to live with you and your sisters." She smiled.
"Oh really?" I raised an eyebrow, Abbey was very surprising.
"Yeah! Oh and Abbey says 'Sing out, Prudence!'" Charity informed.
I laughed.
"See Prudence. Abbey still cares about you." Nathan smiled. I nodded.

"One, Two, One, Two, Three, Four." Cindie called off and motioned for the band to start playing 'Jingle Bell Rock.'

"Jingle Bell, Jingle Bell, Jingle Bell Rock." Everyone sang in harmony.
"Jingle bells swing" The girls sang.
"and jingle bells ring" The guys sang.
"Snowin' and blowin' up bushels of fun
Now the jingle hop has begun" We all danced.

"Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock
Jingle bells chime in jingle bell time" The boys spun around the girl they were partnered up with, Nathan spun both Charity and I around.

"Dancin' and prancin' in Jingle Bell Square
In the frosty air" We all sang.

"What a bright time, it's the right time
To rock the night away
Jingle bell time is a swell time
To go glidin' in a one-horse sleigh"
Casey walked to center stage and sang AMAZINGLY.
When she sang 'rock' she acted like she was playing a guitar.

"Giddy-up jingle horse, pick up your feet" Charity joined in, skipping to her in
"Jingle around the clock" They both walked around in a circle.
"Mix and a-mingle in the jinglin' feet
That's the jingle bell rock" They grabbed hands and danced.

We all took a little dance break. Molly and Keith started doing stunts in the center stage. She did a cartwheel and he caught her.

I looked out to the crowd, they were dancing too!

"Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock" We all formed a line and grabbed hands.
"Jingle bells chime" Half of the people squatted down.
"in jingle bell time" The other half squatted down when the first half stood up.
"Dancin' and prancin' in Jingle Bell Square" Jake did this weird Disco move, so we all did Disco moves.
"In the frosty air" We all chorused while doing the '70's justice.

"What a bright time, it's the right time" Casey went back to the center.
"To rock the night away" She pointed up, then down, like she was at a Disco.
"Jingle bell time is a swell time.
To go gliding' in a one-horse sleigh" She went back, then slid up to the front of the stage.

"Giddy-up jingle horse, pick up your feet" Ryan went behind Casey, and picked her up.
"Jingle around the clock" He spun her while singing.
"Mix and a-mingle in the jingling' feet" He set her down, and they moved their feet in and outwards.
"That's the jingle bell
That's the jingle bell" They sang.
"That's the jingle bell rock!" We all sang and posed.

The crowd erupted in cheers. I hugged Casey, "You were amazing! Same to you Ryan!" I smiled. They thanked me. The curtains closed and Mrs. Hodge went back to the microphone.
"Okay! The next song is for all of you little rockers out there." She did the 'rock n roll' sign with her hands, and walked back.

We all got into a new positon.

They put up white stairs while Mrs. Hodge was introducing us. We all were sitting on them.

Molly, Jake, Elizabeth, and Keith were sitting on the bottom step.
Chrissa, Jessica, Matt, and Charity were sitting on the second to bottom step.
Casey, Ryan, Myself, and Nathan were sitting on the middle step.
Tyler, Callie, and Peter were sitting on the top step, well Callie was standing.

The intro to Brenda Lee's "Rocking Around The Christmas Tree" played and everyone except Callie harmonized.

"Rocking' around the Christmas tree." Callie sang, taking one step down the stairs.
"At the Christmas Party hop." She spun around in time with the guitar.
"Mistletoe hung were you can see.
Every couple tries to stop." She walked down in tune with the guitar.

"Rocking' Around the Christmas tree.
Let the Christmas spirit ring"
She got to the center stage and spun on her heels.

"Later we'll have some pumpkin pie and well do some caroling" She acted like she was smelling Pumpkin Pie and then acted like a caroler.

She slid and made jazz hands then sang;
"You will get a sentimental feeling when you hear;
Voices singing lets be jolly" Everyone stood up, posed, and sang;

"deck the halls with boughs of holly!"

"Rocking around the Christmas tree, have a happy holiday" Callie gave the crowd a thumbs up.
"Everyone dancing merrily in the new old-fashioned way" She sang then we all erupted into dance moves while Trevor, a kid from the band, played the Saxophone solo.

The boys picked the girls up, twisted them, put them down. All while Callie was doing either cartwheels or high-fiving everyone in the front row. Then Callie started dancing like Michael Jackson out of random, I looked at Marisol, who was laughing hysterically.

"You will get a sentimental feeling when you hear" Callie sang and put her hand by her ear.
"Voices singing lets be jolly" She made her way back to the stairs and turned around to sing with us;
"deck the halls with boughs of holly!"

"Rocking around the Christmas tree, have a happy holiday" Callie sang on the bottom step by Jake and Elizabeth.
"Everyone dancing merrily in the" She sang.
"New." She went up one step.
"Old." She went up the next.
"Fashioned." She went up the next.
"Way!!!" She held the note while everyone freestyle danced, then sat down and she posed.

The crowd, once again, erupted in cheers.

Mrs. Hodge signaled for the curtains to be closed.
"Good job, Miss Callie! Okay well for our last song of the night... Well it's a surprise to me too! I hope you enjoy it!" Mrs. Hodge smiled, then jetted back to the side of the stage.

I looked around at everyone in the Chorus. They were all having a great time. I wanted something to celebrate that. I needed to look in my head. I turned to Charity.
"What's your favorite Christmas song?" I asked her.
"Oh me? Uh. Hmm. Hard decision. There's so many awesome ones!" She smiled.
"Can you pick one?" I asked.
"I will have my iPod pick for me." She smiled and pulled her blue iPod nano out of her hat. She shuffled it.
"Hey, you know the Beatles?" She asked.
Callie heard and scoffed.
"Yeah, I mean. I'm named after one of their songs." I smiled.
"Well, my iPod says to sing Paul McCartney's 'Wonderful Christmastime'" She smiled then went to tell the band.

I tried to bust the nerves. Nathan walked up to me.
"Prudence. Stop fretting, you're going to be amazing. Like always." He kissed my cheek and went into his position. Everyone seemed to know which song I was singing because Chrissa, being the Paul Obsessed girl she is, yelled "OHMYGOD YAY!"

Cindie played the intro on her keyboard as the curtains opened.
We all sat on this big box and moved our heads all the same way and were in time wit the keyboard.

I sat in the middle, next to Nathan and Chrissa, and began singing.
"The mood is right.
The spirit's up." I pointed up.

"We're here tonight, and that's enough." I nodded and sang.

"Simply having a wonderful Christmastime
Simply having a wonderful Christmastime" We all chorused.

"The party's on" Peter sang.
"The feel ins here" Jessica sang.
"That only comes" Elizabeth sang.
"This time of year" Jake sang.

"Simply having a wonderful Christmastime" I sang and walked in a jazz square.
"Simply having a wonderful Christmastime" We all sang and Nathan grabbed my hand and spun me around.

"The choir of children sing their song" I sang and motioned to a group of kids.

Nathan, Callie, Chrissa, Jake, Matt, Tyler, and Elizabeth all got in a line and sang;
"Ding dong, ding dong
Ding dong, ding"
"O-o-o-o-oh!" They sang higher and higher.
"Ohhhhhhh" They sang again higher and higher.
"Do do do do do do do" They sang.

Then was a small solo, which Callie and Chrissa went to center stage and shimmied.

"We're Simply having a wonderful Christmastime
Simply having a wonderful Christmastime." We all harmonized.

"The word is out" I sang in a whisper.
"About the town" Nathan sang.
"So lift a glass." Nathan sang, and picked me up and raised me.
"Ahhh don't look down" I sang in the air.

"Simply having a wonderful Christmastime
Simply having a wonderful Christmastime" We all got into a cluster and sang.

"The choir of children sing their song" Matt sang, taking center stage.
"They've practiced all year long" Chrissa nodded, standing by him.

Me, Charity, Peter, Jessica, Casey and Ryan all took the harmonizing parts.
"Ding dong, ding dong
Ding dong, ding dong
Ding dong, ding dong
Ding dong, ding dong
Ding dong, ding dong
Dong, Dong"

"The party's on" Jake sang to Elizabeth, taking her hand.
"The spirits up" Elizabeth sang, pointing up.
"We're here tonight" Jake sang, and moon walked past Elizabeth, causing her to chuckle.
"And that's enough" They harmonized.
"Ooooh!" Elizabeth sang.

"Simply having a wonderful Christmastime
We're Simply having a wonderful Christmastime" They sang and we joined in.

Another solo caused Jessica to pull Peter out into center stage and they began to dance around. Peter was sticking his stomach out, trying to be Santa. Which made Jessica act like Mrs. Claus.

"The Mood is right." I sang.
"The spirit's up." The rest of the chorus sang.
"We're here tonight" Elizabeth sang, waltzing next to me.
"OH! And that's enough." We harmonized.

"Simply having a wonderful Christmastime
Simply having a wonderful Christmastime
Simply having a wonderful Christmastime
Simply having a wonderful Christmastime" Everyone came around in a circle and started clapping and singing.

"Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh" We all sang getting lower and lower in both range and we were squatting lower and lower.

"Christmastime!" I stood up and sang the best I could.

The song ended, and everyone started clapping really loudly.
We all grabbed hands and bowed.

I didn't know if I would be able to go a whole 2 weeks without my Chorus buddies. I mean, sure I'd be with my family, but I'd want to be with my friends too!

Mrs. Hodge came out and said "HAPPY HOLIDAYS!" We all repeated it, and went to the dance.

Nathan grabbed my hand.
"When am I going to give you your Christmas present?" He asked.
"Next Thursday." I smiled. He smiled and said "Okay" Then kissed my cheek and pulled back into the life of the dance.

After the dance. Mrs. Hodge called us all back into the school.
"You were all amazing! The best! I'm so very proud of you! I will miss you all dearly over the break. So get a BUNCH of rest and relax! I will see you all in January!" She smiled then we all left.

Tomorrow is a half day, and Mrs. Hodge can't call a Chorus meeting on a half day, so we all waved.

"MERRY CHRISTMAS, MRS. HODGE! WE LOVE YOU!" We all yelled. Mrs. Hodge looked like she was about to cry. I waved and ran back and hugged her.
"Have a Merry Christmas" I smiled then walked to the rest of my sisters, and my newest sister, Charity.

"So how do you like AGPPA?" I asked.
"If THAT'S what every dance is like, then I LOVE IT" She smiled, then we ran home.

Love Is All You Need.

"YAY! YOU GOT BACK WITH HIM!" I yelled happily.

Yesterday was The Beatles assignment for Chorus, and Jake and Elizabeth got back together!

Elizabeth smiled and giggled like a little kid. Jake smiled and chuckled a bit.

Jake had just apologized to Lizzie by singing The Beatles' version of "Dizzy Miss Lizzy," which OUR Lizzie L O V E D!

"Fantastic job, Jake! Your an AMAZING singer!" Mrs. Hodge complimented. Jake smiled "Thanks, Mrs. H."

"Okay next up is......" Mrs. Hodge trailed off, looking for someone to sing.
"PRUDENCE!" I jumped up in shock.

"Can someone go before me?" I asked sincerely.
"Sure, dear. How about....... Callie!" Mrs. Hodge proposed.

Callie ran up to the stage before anyone could protest.
She scanned the crowd, flashed me a smile, waved to Molly,
then began to belt out the words to "I Don't Want To Spoil The Party" by her boys, The Beatles.

"I don't want to spoil the party, so I'll go.
I would hate my disappointment to show." She made a gesture that said 'Harmonize!'
I agreed.

"There's Nothing for me here, so I will disappear!" Callie's melodious voice sang while Casey and I sang 'Ooooh, ooooh.'

"If he turns up while I'm gone please let me know." Callie said, looking for Peter. Just then, like clockwork, Peter showed up.

"I've had a drink or two and I don't care,
There's no fun in what I do if he's not there,
I wonder what went wrong I've waited far too long,
I think I'll take a walk and look for him." Callie said as she spun around, but she didn't notice it.

"Though tonight he's made me sad,
I still love him," Callie held the note on 'I still love him.'

"If I find him I'll be glad,
I still love him." She did the same thing again, only this time, she unknowingly pointed to Peter.

"I don't want to spoil the party so I'll go,
I would hate my disappointment to show" Callie realized what she did.
Casey and I harmonized once again, but we were too fixed on what was going on to know if we were on pitch or anything.

"There's nothing for me here so I will disappear,
If he turns up while I'm gone please let me know." Callie sang awkwardly, never loosing the pitch though.

Then Ben busted out into the guitar solo. Molly and Casey hopped on stage to dance around Callie, who was nervously staring at Peter, who was giving her a death glare.

"Come on, Cals! Relax!" Molly said as she spun Callie around and Callie spun to center stage.

"Though tonight he's made me sad,
I still love him" Molly and Callie sang.

"If I find him I'll be glad,
I still love him." Callie sang amazingly.

"Though I've had a drink or two and I don't care,
There's no fun in what I do if he's not there,
I wonder what went wrong
I've waited far too long," Callie sang with tears in her normally happy blue eyes.

"I think I'll take a walk and look for him." Callie sighed.

Molly and Casey danced around and posed, while Callie ran off stage and out of the auditorium.

Peter looked at the door, obviously deciding whether or not to run after her.
"RUN AFTER HER, YOU IDIOT!" Ryan shouted.

Peter did as he was told, busting out the doors while shouting "CALLIE!"

"Someone should go after them." Mrs. Hodge sighed.
"I will" I offered then ran after them.

I bolted down each and every hallway in the school.

No Callie.
Not. One. Little. Sign.

I let out a long sigh, then walked into the band room. I heard some soft guitar strumming.

"Callie?" I asked.
"Go away." The voice muttered.
"Please Callie, it's me Prudence." I said.
"Pru, leave. It's obvious I'm unlovable." Callie sighed.
"Don't say that! Everyone loves you!" I smiled.
"Not Peter." Callie said.
"Forget Peter, he's a jerk! A stupid one too." I tried.
"But he's my best friend." She softly said.
"If he was you friend, he would have told you a better way than giving you the death stare." I advised.
Callie seemed to know I was right, because she placed the guitar down.
"I knew it, I spoiled the party for everyone."
"NO! Callie you were amazing, and you don't spoil the party, you START the party!" I corrected.
"Didn't you already say that to me?" Callie asked with a smile on her face.
"I forgot, but it's the truth." I said, wagging my finger in her direction.

"Why does this always happen to me?" She asked after a few seconds of silence.
"What?" I asked.
"How come, whenever word gets out that I like a guy, does he always avoid me? Is there something wrong with me?" Callie looked down.
"No, there is nothing wrong with you." I comforted, pulling her into a hug.
She started crying.
"If there wasn't anything wrong with me, Peter would like me more than a friend." Callie sobbed.
I patted her back, trying to calm her down.

That's when I remembered.
"OH MY GOD!" I yelled, breaking the hug.
Callie sniffed "What?"
"We have to get back!" I simply said then pulled her back to the auditorium.

Just as we busted through the doors, Ryan had finished singing "Do You Want To Know a Secret." By The Beatles, I was awestruck;

He sang it for Casey! How sweet! Casey and Ryan had run into each other on Tuesday and Ryan kinda blurted out "I like you more than a friend." Ryan must have decided that the Chorus should know.

I smiled, Callie looked disgusted.

Step two in heartbreak; after crying, think love is disgusting.

"Callie." I said sternly, which caused her features to brighten up a bit.

After Ryan finished, he asked Casey to be his girlfriend which, of course, she agreed to!

Then Casey went up and sang "Got To Get You Into My Life" to show Ryan that the feelings were mutual.

After Casey, Jessica strode on stage and walked up to the mic
"Well, I was gone all last week and now it seems like people are bored with me." She sighed. "I just don't want you guys to in a sense 'pass me by'" She entered air quoted around "Pass Me By," then she appropriately sang "Don't Pass Me By."

Keith then walked on stage, grabbed a guitar and sat on a bench and said "Well, over Thanksgiving Break, my dad was notified that he had to go back into battle and was supposed to be sent back to Iraq as soon as possible." Keith sighed, his dad is in the Military and wasn't in battle for 5 years, but now he's back there. "I just miss him and I hate having him be a million miles away." He sighed, then started singing "Across The Universe." I took a quick look at Molly and she looked on the verge of tears.

After Keith went up, Molly volunteered to sing.
"Stay." She ordered Keith, and Keith obeyed.
"I'm really sorry about your dad." Molly sighed.
"It's okay Mc- Molly. It's not your fault." Keith reassured.
"I wish there was a way you could see him." Molly sighed.
"Well, don't worry, he's coming back for Christmas." Keith smiled which caused Molly to smile as well.
"I want to sing you something to make you feel a bit better, 'cause even though we're constantly at each other's throats, I still care about you. I will always be here for you Keith, but I am just wondering, will you?" Molly asked then the introduction to The Beatles' "When I'm Sixty-Four" played.

"When I get older, loosing my hair, many years from now." Molly sang.
"Will you still be sending me a Valentine, Birthday Greetings, Bottle of Wine?" Molly spun around Keith, who had a smirk plastered on his face.
"If I'd been out 'til quarter to three,
would you lock the door?" Molly imitated locking a door.
"Will you still need me?" She stood in front of Keith and bent to one side.
"Will you still feed me?" She bent to the opposite side.
"When I'm Sixty-Four?" Molly smirked then Keith spun her around.

After Molly sang, then Peter walked up.
I was giving him the same stare he had given Callie.
Nathan walked up to me "Whoa Peach, you win at giving death stares." He joked.
I smiled and turned to him "Hush up, Nathan."
He grabbed his heart "My own girlfriend, telling me to 'hush up?' Oh the horror!"
I smiled "You know I'm only kidding, Nate." I stretched up and kissed his cheek.
"I l-" He started, but got cut off by Peter announcing.

"I am going to sing a song that's about not hurting someone that you care about." He stated.
"TOO LATE!" Elizabeth called out.
"Yeah!" Molly agreed.
"It's just, I know she's been hurt a lot. Heck, I've hurt her sometimes. Not physically but still, and I just want to sing this song to apologize to her and maybe start a relationship with her." His eyes were traveling across the room.

I smirked, he must've done that on purpose.
It wasn't right, but it made the song seem more appropriate.

"Oh Darling!" He sang out.
"Please believe me!
I'll never do you no harm." He had a powerful voice.
"Believe me when I tell you, I'll never do you no harm." He nodded at Jessica, who smiled back.

After that, I blocked out his singing, I couldn't get over how mad I was.

After his performance, he went down to Jessica and he asked her out.
She agreed and they hugged. I was about to go ape crazy.

Which, I did.

"YOU!" I yelled, running at Peter. I jumped on him and started slapping him mercilessly.

"PRUDENCE!" Nathan yelled, and picked me off of Peter. I was laying horizontally in Nathan's arms with my arms and legs flailing.

"Wait, what?" Callie asked.
"YOU HELPED HIM?" Her voice became a yell.
"I thought he was going to sing it to YOU!" I yelled.
"Why would I sing it to her?" Peter asked.
"Like her? Callie? No." Peter simply said, he had his arm draped around Jessica.

"Peter Frasier, you are a jerk. No not a jerk, you are a piece of crap. A piece of crap that has been stepped on, eaten, spit back out, eaten again, crapped out, then shot." Callie simply said, then kicked him in the leg.

"OW!" Peter limped.
Jessica and Peter went over to the other end of the auditorium.

"Um, how about Prudence goes next?" Mrs. Hodge tried to calm us all down.
"Okay." I sighed, then nodded for Nathan to put me down.

As soon as I got up on stage, I spoke into the mic.
"This song is for Callie. Cals, you've been broken a lot lately, but don't worry. You'll take them broken wings and learn to fly." I winked then sang;

"Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise" I played guitar and sang.

"Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these sunken eyes and learn to see
all your life
you were only waiting for this moment to be free" I sang to Callie.

"Blackbird fly, Blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark black night."
Nathan and I harmonized, then I played the guitar a little.

"Blackbird fly, Blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark black night." Nathan and I chorused again.

Nathan took the guitar and played the solo amazingly, I looked at Callie and she looked like she was on the verge of tears.

"Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise,
You were only waiting for this moment to arise,
You were only waiting for this moment to arise" I smiled to her.

Everyone (besides Jessica and Peter) jumped up and clapped.
"WOOT!" They all screamed.
Nathan walked over to me and kissed the top of my head "I'm proud of you Peach." Callie ran up and hugged me "Thank you! That is the nicest thing anyone has ever sang to me."
"No problem Callie, you've been here so many times for me. It had to be done." I smiled.

Mrs. Hodge clapped "That was beautiful, Prudence! Nathan, would you like to go next?" She asked.
"Yes, miss." He smiled then walked up to the front of the stage.

"This song is for Prudence. I wanted to tell you this earlier, but I thought right now would be the best place." He smiled then started singing;

"I give her all my love
That's all I do
And if you saw my love
You'd love her too
I love her"
I was about to fall over.

"She gives me everything
And tenderly
The kiss my lover brings
She brings to me
And I love her"
I giggled insanely, Callie gave me a knowing smile.

"A love like ours
Could never die
As long as I
Have you near me"
He made his way by me and grabbed my hand.

"Bright are the stars that shine
Dark is the sky
I know this love of mine
Will never die
And I love her" He smiled then kissed my forehead.

okay, I'm back. That was me fainting.

Then came the guitar solo, which Cindie played PERFECTLY. Callie looked at her best friend proudly.

"Bright are the stars that shine
Dark is the sky
I know this love of mine
Will never die
And I love her" Nathan sang, sweetly.

"I love you, Prudence." He whispered, causing me to get the chills.
"I love you too, Nathan." I beamed and he kissed me.

I insanely giggled, once again.

"Well now that every one's happy, it's time for me to sing a song." Tyler said, waltzing up to the stage.
"Callie, get up here." He ordered.
"Because, you need to sing too." He explained.
"Oh okay." Callie smiled then walked over to Tyler.
"I got the idea to sing this song by most of today's events." Tyler sighed. I mentally noted that he looked too much like a blond George Harrison.

"Well, Monroe here and I have a song to sing. It goes something like this." He smiled then nodded to Cindie to start up the band.

A folk guitar intro played.
"I'm looking through you." Tyler sang to Jessica
"Where did you go?" Callie finished to Peter
"I thought I knew you." Callie sang again.
"What did I know?" Tyler asked while singing.
"I'm Looking Through You." They harmonized.
"YOU'RE NOT THE SAME!" They raised their voices.
Then they danced.

After they sang, Mrs. Hodge complimented them and all of us.
"Well, your next song assignment is...........
Love songs! You have until next Wednesday!" She smiled then sent us all out.

"PRUDENCE! CALLIE! MOLLY!" Marisol called out.

'Ugh.' I muttered in my mind.

"WHAT?" Molly replied.

"GO TO AGPPA! MRS. HODGE CALLED AND IS HAVING A CHORUS MEETING." Marisol called up and went back into the kitchen.

"Why would Mrs. Hodge call a Chorus meeting on a Sunday?" I asked, then decided to get dressed.

I got dressed in a long purple tee shirt and black skinny jeans. I put on my purple Converse then walked to Callie's room.

"CALLIE!" I called, she had her door shut.
"Ringo, is that you?" Callie was obviously asleep.

I bust through the door.

"CALLIE!" I yelled.
She rolled over and fell out of bed.
"AMEN!" She yelled immediately as she hit the ground.
"Callie, we're not in Church." I rolled my eyes.
"Then why did you wake me up?" She muttered.
"Because, Mrs. Hodge called a Chorus meeting." I explained.
"Hodge." Callie simply said then got up and went to get dressed.

Then, I went to the bathroom to brush my teeth, where I was joined by Molly.
"Morning, Pru." She greeted.
"Good morning, Molly." I returned the favor.
"Hey, uh, can I ask you something?" Molly said after a few moments of silence.
I finished brushing my teeth then replied "Sure"
"Well, what would you do if you liked a guy but he hated you." Molly looked around.
"Y-NO!" Molly stuttered.
I looked at her knowingly, "Molls."
"Fine! I like him, but don't tell ANYONE. He would probably rather DIE than like me back." Molly sighed.
"You never know Molly. He might just grow old with you." I joked then walked out of the bathroom.

At Chorus Practice, everyone looked half asleep.
"Hey, Pru." Elizabeth sleepily greeted.
"Hey, Lizzie." I waved.
"Morning, Peach." Nathan kissed the top of my head.
I looked up at him, he looked exhausted.
I peered over at Callie, but she had her head on Peter's shoulder and she was on the verge of falling asleep. Peter looked like he didn't mind.

I chuckled.

"GOOD MORNING!" Mrs. Hodge's cheeriness annoyed me.
Everyone muttered a greeting.
"Well, the reason I called you all here is to know what song you are going to sing." She smiled.
I immediately opened my eyes.

"We'll go down the line. You will tell me which album you had, then The Beatles song that you chose." Mrs. Hodge smiled.
Everyone nodded.
"First up is Ryan." She smiled.

"I got Please Please Me, their first album. The song I chose is 'Do You Want To Know A Secret.'" He explained.
"Oh I LOVE that song!" Casey beamed.

That's not the ONLY thing that she loves.

"Awesome choice! Casey?" Mrs. Hodge asked.
"I got Revolver and I chose 'Got To Get You Into My Life'" She beamed.
"I love that song." Ryan smiled at her.

"Lovely! Molly?" Mrs. Hodge asked.
"I got Sgt. Pepper's and I chose 'When I'm Sixty Four.'" Molly explained.
"You look like you are now." Keith said.
"At least I don't act like I'm 3 like SOME PEOPLE." Molly shot back.

"Calm down, but great choice! Tyler?"
"I got the awesome-ness that is Rubber Soul and I picked 'I'm Looking Through You'" Tyler explained.
"Who are you looking through?" Jessica asked.
"You." Tyler said then turned back to face Mrs. Hodge.

"I love that song! Jessica?"
"I got the Second half of The White Album, and I picked 'Don't Pass Me By'" Jessica smiled.
"I wish I can." Tyler muttered.
"YOU KNOW WHAT?!" Jessica asked, standing up.

"Okay, okay. Calm down, Jessica." Mrs. Hodge advised.
Jessica sat down.
"Keith?" Mrs. Hodge smiled.
"I got Let It Be, their last album." Keith explained.
"Abbey Road was their true last album." Molly interjected.
"Abbey Road was released before Let It Be." Keith fought back.
"Abbey Road was recorded after Let It Be." Molly said.

"OKAY! WE GET IT!" Callie yelled, then rested her head on Peter's shoulder once again.
"Well, I got Let It Be and I picked 'Across The Universe.'" Keith finished.

"Nice choice! Nathan?" Mrs. Hodge asked.
"I got A Hard Day's Night." Nathan smiled down on me, he knew I loved that album.
I smiled.
"And I picked the song 'And I Love Her.'" He finished.
My cheeks burned.

Did he just imply that he l-l-l-l-loved me?

"I love that song, it's so sweet! Pru?" Mrs. Hodge asked.
"I had the luck of picking the first side of The White Album and I picked..." I trailed off.
"One second." I said then ran to my purse, where I pulled out my iTouch.

"Shuffle, Shuffle, Shuffle." I chanted.
I shuffled it.

"Blackbird singing in the dead of night, take these broken wings and learn to fly." I heard.

"'Blackbird'! I choose 'Blackbird!'" I beamed.

It was so perfect for me, I have been broken a lot lately, but it would be best for me if I fixed up those brusies and move on.

"Amazing song! Lovely choice! Elizabeth?" Mrs. Hodge commented.
"I got Magical Mystery Tour, and I picked the song 'All You Need Is Love'" She smiled at Jake, who returned the gesture.

"Love it! Jake?" Mrs. Hodge questioned.
"I got the album Help! Yes, there is an exclamation point after it." He joked.
Everyone either chuckled or giggled, we were all too tired to laugh.
"Well anyways, I got Help and I chose 'Dizzy Miss Lizzy'" He smiled.

Elizabeth looked shocked, the look on her face said "Is he singing a song for me?"
Yes, Liz, he is.

"Aw, how nice! Callie?" Mrs. Hodge beamed.
"I got Beatles For Sale and I chose 'I Don't Want To Spoil The Party.'" Callie lazily said.
Peter looked at her "Callie, you don't spoil the party. You are the party."
Callie smiled "Hush. Let me sleep." Callie dazed off once more.

"Nice song! Peter?" Mrs. Hodge asked Peter.
We had picked a song yesterday while Callie was getting ready. I think it fit his situation to a 'T.'
"I got Abbey Road and I picked 'Oh! Darling'" Peter explained.
Callie mindlessly giggled.
"Good luck singing that one!" Mrs. Hodge joked.
"Thanks, I'll need it." Peter laughed along.

"Well, that's all I wanted to know from you all. You can go back home and sleep, but remember Tuesday is the day you perform your song for the Chorus!" Mrs. Hodge said.
Everyone grabbed their stuff and peeled out of there.

"BYE MRS. HODGE! SEE YOU ON MONDAY!" I yelled then ran home to the comfort of my bed.

Friday, December 3, 2010

"Goodbye class!" Mrs. Hodge smiled and sent us on our way to find songs on Wednesday.

I was speed-walking to the door when I was alarmed by a
"PRU! WAIT UP!" I turned and saw, gasp, Peter.

"Peter?" I stopped dead in my tracks,

he had come back from being sick, but you could still see a bit of flush in his face.

"I need your help." Peter said.
"With?" I asked, shell shocked, he NEVER talks to me.
"Picking a song."
"What? Your like king of the Beatle People." I pointed out.
"True, but I NEED a song that expresses my feelings." He nodded.

You and me both, kid.

"Oh! Okay, well what are your feelings?" I asked.
"Well, uhm, I like this girl..... a lot, but she's been hurt a lot in her past, and I just want to show her that I am here for her, and that if WE, that's her and I, ever got together, I wouldn't hurt her." He explained.

I nodded, I was kind of excited, I mean, Callie has been hurt a lot in her lifetime.
Maybe, for the first time, my sister was actually having a crush that was crushing back?

Score one for Callie.

"Oh okay, well I will look for a song and tell you when you come over on Saturday." I informed, Callie and Peter ALWAYS go to the mall on Saturdays, it's a ritual, if you will.

"Thanks, Prudence. I owe you one, oh and" He pulled me close.
"Don't tell Callie." He whispered.

Oh, he DEFINITELY is crazy for Callie.
